The title of the film appears alongside a noise, like the text has fallen from somewhere. This attracts the attention of an audience, preparing them for the film that's just about to be shown. The names that are featured on screen during the credits dissolve away, this corresponds with the film as it is set by the seaside, this effect makes a connection with the sea. However, the simple colour scheme chosen, white on black, represents a low budget film. In the first cut we identify two characters, a white male and a black male, it is unusual for someone within the black race to appear in the first two minutes of a film, this film criticises the stereotype of a black male not being featured heavily in an American film. There is dialogue within the first 45 seconds of this film opening, the rest is just background music, a soft, slow, orchestral sound with the twist of a steady beat and a peculiar noise, which represents a slight breathing sound. The music speeds up then gradually slows down again, representing a drama genre, as in this genre, music speeds up when something is about to happen then is slower during a normal sequence where nothing particularly interesting is happening. The two men featured are pushing a television on wheels somewhere, this is where we identify the setting of the seaside as they wheel it past a group of women who are seated on deckchairs. They also wheel the television along the beach front, as identified by visiting a seaside personally. At the end of the clip the word 'Summer' appears in block capitals, alongside a similar noise to the beginning of the clip, this indicates to an audience that the credit sequence has finished and the film is indeed about to begin.
